CONGRATULATIONS TO OLEXANDR SVISHCHOV WITH HIS BIRTHDAY!
President of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine Oleksandr Svishchov celebrates his birthday. Ten years ago he joined the water polo community in Lviv and since then it would be hard to imagine water polo in the city without this person. And then he began to work fruitfully on the development of his favorite sport at the national level, first as the vice-president of the FVPU, and later – as its head.
During this time, the development of water polo in our country and its entry into the international arena are closely associated with the name of Oleksandr Svishchov, because he is a man who brings everything he undertakes to order. When in 2012 Oleksandr Svishchov became the president of VC “Dynamo” Lviv”, the Cup of Ukraine was held in the city of Lviv for the first time after a long pause. At the same time, the trophy successes of the club began. This is eloquently evidenced by eight titles of the champion of Ukraine, nine Cups of Ukraine and four Super Cups. Also, with the assistance of Oleksandr Svishchov in 2018, Dynamo Lviv Water Polo Club took part in the Champions League qualifying games in the Romanian city of Brasov for the first time in twenty years.
In 2021, Oleksandr headed the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation. During this year, Ukrainian water polo has made a good name for itself in the international arena. It is worth mentioning the first trophy of the national team of Ukraine in 20 years – gold of the international tournament League of Nations, victory in the Lithuanian Cup and participation in the qualifying games of the European Championship. At the same time, the U-19 women’s national team of Ukraine won a place in the top ten strongest teams of the European Women’s U-19 Championship. In general, the youth and girls’ national teams of the U-19 and U-16 age categories have been well represented in the international arena.
A separate link that Oleksandr Svishchov is working on is the popularization of water polo. Recently, there was a collaboration between the Water Polo Federation and the eco-brand RDNT, founded by Andre Tan. As a result – a capsule collection of specially designed T-shirts, which aims to raise funds for children suffering from war. By the way, this initiative was written about in the authoritative American publication “Forbes”. It is also worth mentioning the grand citywide celebration in honor of the seventieth anniversary of the legendary water polo club “Dynamo” Lviv”, during which the record – “The largest water polo ball in the world” – was set, the shooting of two films – about “Dynamo” Lviv” and about the 100th anniversary of water polo in Lviv region. And recently, the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine, with the assistance of Oleksandr Yuriyovych, also effectively works in the media. The activities of the FVPU can now be followed on the organization’s pages on Facebook and Instagram. Online broadcasts of the most important matches gather hundreds or even thousands of views on the official YouTube channel of the federation. There, after the matches, the analysis of matches from coaches and players, as well as their emotions in video format are promptly published. The most important matches could also be viewed on Xsport and NTA TV channels. The head of the FVPU is really “burning” for his work, and it gives results.
We wish Oleksandr Svishchov not to slow down in his dreams and plans, so that he and his family are always accompanied by health, peace, love, harmony and warmth. To have faithful people and sincere friends by his side. And all this – necessarily in a free and independent Ukraine! Because the victory is ours!
