
At the regular meeting of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine, attended by representatives of all its local branches, Oleksandr Svishchov’s candidacy received full and unanimous support from the delegates.
It is worth noting that Oleksandr Svishchov joined the leadership of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine back in 2014, first as a vice president, and in June 2021 he became president of the federation.
Oleksandr Svishchov: “We have to move from preservation to development”
In his speech after the election, Oleksandr Svishchov thanked his colleagues for their trust and emphasized that the next term should be a period of development of water polo in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Svishchov, President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation, noted that despite the many challenges faced by the sport, the strategic vector is changing: “While in previous years we devoted ourselves to preserving water polo in Ukraine, now our main focus is the active promotion and development of children’s and youth schools.”
Priority – children and popularization of sports
The President of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine noted that children’s sports will become the foundation of future achievements.

Mr. Svishchov emphasized: “Children are our future. We will work to popularize water polo and develop sports infrastructure.”
The new presidium of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine has been elected
In addition to the president, a new presidium of the Federation was elected. It includes:
- Oleksandr Svishchov
- Mykola Smirnov
- Oleksandr Yevtushok
- Viacheslav Belevtsov
- Valery Botnar
- Victor Pushaver

The intrigues of the season and preparations for Euro 2026 are ahead
Mr. Svishchov also shared his expectations for the final part of the Super League season. He especially noted the unexpected victories of the Aquatico team and the high competition for medals.

“A busy month is ahead. We are preparing the national teams for the Euro 2026 qualifiers. The final round should bring the teams to a new level,” summarized president the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine.
