Important decisions were made during the meeting of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine (WPFU) regarding the further development of children’s and youth water polo in the country. One of the key issues discussed was the training program for children’s and youth schools, aimed at preparing talented young athletes.
Highlighting this issue became necessary as the WPFU faced numerous challenges during the war. Considering the difficulties faced by the national and youth teams of Ukraine, there was a need to raise the level of preparation for children’s and youth teams.

According to the held decision, the WPFU will focus its efforts on developing and implementing a training program for children’s and youth schools, aimed at nurturing talented young water polo players. This program will involve systematic training, support and development of young talents, as well as providing them with opportunities to participate in international competitions.

In addition, WPFU announced the search for a new head coach for both the men’s and women’s national teams of Ukraine. Applications for this prestigious position will be accepted until October 2023. All interested coaches can send their applications to the WPFU’s e-mail address: ukr@waterpolo.com.ua. The vacant position of the head coach of the national team presents a great opportunity for qualified professionals to contribute to the development of water polo in Ukraine and support talented athletes on the international stage.

Oleksandr Yuriyovych Svishchov, summarizing the results of the conference, noted that the decisions made during the meeting of the WPFU demonstrate the federation’s serious commitment to the development of youth water polo. These steps are aimed at supporting talented young athletes and enhancing the competitiveness of the national teams of Ukraine. The implementation of the new training program and the appointment of a new head coach for the national team open up new prospects for the development of water polo in Ukraine and the training of future champions.
