The 2nd round of the Super League in Group A has ended in Lviv. The competitions took place from November 10 to 12 at the summer sports training center of the Ministry of Defense.
Lviv’s KIVS defeated the Zakarpattia Oblast team UzhNU in a tense match. And Water Polo Club Dynamo won its sixth victory in a row.
The teams played with the following results:
“KIVS (Lviv) – LFKS-Aquatico (Lviv) 12-11 (4-3, 2-1, 2-6, 4-1)
Water Polo Club Dynamo Lviv – UzhNU Transcarpathian region team 25-3 (3-0, 8-0, 7-3, 7-0)
Transcarpathian region team UzhNU – LFKS – Aquatico (Lviv) 15-15 (2-3, 3-3, 6-5, 4-4)
Water Polo Club Dynamo Lviv – KIVS (Lviv) 16-1 (5-0, 3-0, 4-0, 4-1)
Team of Transcarpathian region UzhNU – KIVS (Lviv) 12-14 (3-4, 3-2, 4-3, 2-5)
Water Polo Club Dynamo Lviv – LFC Aquatico (Lviv) 22-8 (7-2, 5-1, 4-1, 5-4)
Currently, the standings in the Ukrainian Water Polo Super League look like this:
“Water polo is a fairly tough contact game, with the water environment serving as a platform.
Today, this sport is gaining popularity among young people. A clear example of this is the excellent and strong performance of our athletes in the Super League,” said Oleksandr Svishchov, President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation.
It is worth noting that after the results were summed up, LFC-Aquatico player Oleksandr Rychun was awarded the best player of the second round of the Super League (Group A). The winner was chosen by a joint vote of the coaches of the Group A teams and the judging panel.
Oleksandr Svishchov also noted the powerful game of Water Polo Club Dynamo against LFC Aquatico and the Transcarpathian national team.
“In the current realities of the large-scale war in Ukraine, sports life is developing mainly at the level of national teams, but not on the same scale as in peacetime.
But at the beginning of the war, the main task for the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine leadership was to find a safe place for water polo players and to represent Ukrainian teams of all ages in international competitions. So today, after our men’s and women’s national teams have participated in international competitions, the main task of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine is to restore a decent level of domestic championships,” summarized Oleksandr Svishchov.

“Today we have three equal teams. Yes, no one competes with Water Polo Club Dynamo Lviv today. But there will be a real battle and intrigue for the second place. I think that there will be a very interesting fight in the next rounds,” – Volodymyr Havrylenko, the head coach of the Transcarpathian region team of UzhNU.
